Privacy Policy

‍ ‍

Effective Date: June 30, 2026

‍ ‍

The Giving Pint ("The Giving Pint," "we," "us," or "our") is a craft-based vocational apprenticeship program serving adults with autism and learning differences. We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who interacts with us — including program participants and their families, donors, volunteers, funders, newsletter subscribers, and visitors to our website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.

‍ ‍

By using our website, subscribing to our communications, donating, volunteering, or participating in our programs, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not provide us with personal information or use our services.

‍ ‍

‍ ‍

●       Program participant information: information related to enrollment and participation in our apprenticeship programs, including information relevant to Self Determination Program (SDP) services, regional center coordination, accommodation needs, and progress documentation, where applicable and with appropriate authorization

‍ ‍

●       Volunteer and staff information: application materials, references, and scheduling information

‍ ‍

●       Communications you send us: messages submitted through contact forms, email, or social media

‍ ‍

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

‍ ‍

When you visit our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

‍ ‍

1.3 Information From Third Parties

‍ ‍

We may receive information about you from third parties, such as regional centers, referring service coordinators, family members or authorized representatives, event partners, or payment processors, where necessary to deliver our programs or process a transaction.

‍ ‍

2. How We Use Information

‍ ‍

We use the information we collect to:

‍ ‍

●       Deliver, coordinate, and document participation in our vocational apprenticeship programs

‍ ‍

●       Communicate with subscribers, donors, and participants, including newsletters, appeals, program updates, and event invitations

‍ ‍

‍ ‍

3. How We Share Information

‍ ‍

We do not sell subscriber, donor, or participant data. We share personal information only in the following limited circumstances:

‍ ‍

●       Service providers: with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as email and newsletter platforms, payment processors, website hosting, and database management — under agreements that limit their use of your data to providing services to us

‍ ‍

●       Regional centers and funders: with regional centers, government agencies, or grant funders when required for service authorization, billing, or reporting related to a participant's program (limited to what is necessary and authorized)

‍ ‍

●       Professional advisors: with our accountants, auditors, or legal counsel as needed

‍ ‍

●       Legal requirements: when required to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Giving Pint, our participants, or others

‍ ‍

●       With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information, or with your explicit permission

‍ ‍

We may share aggregated or de-identified information (which does not identify you individually) publicly or with partners, such as in impact reports or grant applications.

‍ ‍

4. Data Storage & Security

‍ ‍

We store personal information using reputable third-party platforms (such as donor management, email marketing, and cloud storage providers) that maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

‍ ‍

Program participant records containing sensitive information (such as SDP service documentation) are stored with additional access restrictions, limited to staff who need the information to perform their duties.

‍ ‍

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected individuals as required by law.

‍ ‍

5. Data Retention

‍ ‍

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including maintaining donor and program records for accounting, tax, grant-reporting, and legal compliance purposes. Program participant records are retained in accordance with applicable regional center and SDP documentation requirements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.

‍ ‍

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, understand how visitors use our site, and improve the site experience. This may include third-party analytics tools that collect data such as pages viewed and time on site. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may limit some website features.

7. Your Choices & Rights

‍ ‍

You have the following choices regarding your information:

‍ ‍

●       Unsubscribe: every email newsletter or appeal includes an unsubscribe link, or you may contact us directly to opt out of communications

‍ ‍

●       Access and correction: you may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you

‍ ‍

●       Deletion: you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to our legal, accounting, and grant-reporting obligations to retain certain records

‍ ‍

●       Communication preferences: you may ask to be contacted only by a specific method (e.g., email only, mail only)

‍ ‍

To exercise any of these choices, contact us using the information in Section 10 below.

‍ ‍
